During the early advice and planning phase, a dedicated team at Envoy will carry out a detailed review of the building. One of our in-house design managers will analyse as-built information available, along with the fire strategy and any intrusive inspection surveys carried out to date. Where information is unavailable, we can carry out intrusive inspections to determine the façade build-ups, and surveys to produce architectural elevations for the works.
As part of our support during this early planning phase, a Project Manager will also be allocated to provide initial advice on remedial installation and logistics strategies. These will be based on the unique challenges of each building and focused on carrying out the works as efficiently as possible and with minimum disruption to the residents. To conclude this phase, we will work closely with the Fire Engineer and Building Control Approved Inspector to produce a clear summary of the findings and detailed proposal for the remedial works required, ensuring compliance and successful EWS approval at the end of the project.
The proposal will include: a project specification for the replacement Class A1- or A2-rated façade; a detailed methodology covering resident safety, access, welfare, storage and waste removal; a proposal clearly identifying each element of works for easy analysis against your cost plan; and a detailed programme covering all phases of the project, including material samples, detailed design, building control and fire engineer approval, site mobilisation and delivery of the works on site. As well as our focus on safety and quality, our extensive industry knowledge means that we select cost effective systems and products. As we are carrying out the full design, supply, and installation process, we are able to optimise all build-ups and avoid any unnecessary or expensive components.

Once the contract for the works has been awarded, the project team will proceed with the detailed design phase. A series of workshops and sample review meetings will be arranged with your team to ensure an excellent visual result, and our Fire Engineer and Approved Inspector will be consulted throughout to ensure a comprehensive safe solution.
At the same time as the detailed design phase is being completed, we will commence the site mobilisation and setup process. Resident liaison meetings will be held to explain the upcoming works, and any council or other permits are arranged at this stage.
Prior to starting on site, approval of the design will be obtained from Building Control and a Fire Engineer, to give complete peace of mind that all requirements are met.
Following design approval, works will commence on site. As each area is worked on, a benchmark section is installed for client sign-off, and all the rest of that area is then installed to that standard.
The existing cladding will then be removed and replaced with the new compliant cladding, working section by section around the building in line with the agreed programme.
Throughout the installation process, our online QA system (Fieldview) will be used to record the quality checks and hold points for each area. Photos of each location will be taken and any snags recorded on the system, with sign-off only allowed once evidence is provided that the snag has been addressed. This comprehensive system ensures peace of mind that each area has been installed correctly and that a full audit trail is available to prove it. Following design approval works will commence on site with a benchmark of each area to ensure quality expectations are met. The existing cladding will then be removed and replaced working sequentially around the building in line with the agreed programme.
